Top RV Camping Destinations in Utah

Aug. 9 2018 Miscellaneous By ___

As a proud part of the wild west, Utah is home to some of the most beautiful landscapes and exciting adventures you’ll find anywhere in the nation. Checking these places out using your travel trailer can be a great way to experience all the best parts of the state while still having a comfortable place to rest every night. Just make sure you’ve got your site booked ahead of time so you’re not wandering around at night looking for a place to park and set up. To help you find the perfect campground, Airstream of Utah, your friendly neighborhood travel trailer dealer, has provided some of our favorites. Check them out and let us know what you think by visiting our location in Salt Lake City, Utah, near Park City and serving the entire Beehive State as well as Jackson, Wyoming.

Zion National Park

One of the state’s most iconic national parks is Zion. First established as a national park in 1919, this area provides some of the most exquisite scenery that gives you a glimpse into what America once looked like. This means lots of places to hike and explore and incredible vistas that stretch for miles. And you definitely won’t want to miss out on the focal point of it all, Zion Canyon.

With so much to do, you’ll probably want to stay in the park overnight. And like most national parks and recreation areas, Zion has a few camping opportunities available to you, including RV sites. Choose from a range of amenities that can either give you peak luxury or simply the basics so you can really enjoy your trip in a way that best suits you and your family. However, these campsites are fairly popular and you’ll definitely need to make reservations ahead of time, especially if you want to be a short drive from the park itself. You’ll also want to check their website for all closures and alerts.

Spanish Trail RV Park

Another popular region east of Zion is Dead Horse Point State Park, Arches, and Canyonlands National Parks. This gives you even more to explore and the opportunity to relive what it would have been like to map out this uncharted territory--minus the dysentery. Just north of this region is the Spanish Trail RV Park. This campground comes with fantastic amenities like clean and landscaped sites, lots of pull-thrus, a heated pool and spa, and simply a welcoming environment to make your stay more relaxing.

On the days when you need a break from the expansive landscapes, consider heading north to the city of Moab where you can check out some of the local attractions, like the Elk Mountain Mission, the Museum of Moab, and vehicle rentals to give you a new perspective on the area, including jeeps, UTVs, and other machines with off-road capabilities.

Pony Express RV Resort & Campground

But we’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you how to spend the night close to Utah’s world famous attraction, the Great Salt Lake. It’s the western hemisphere’s largest salt water lake and the eight largest in the world, meaning it attracts millions of international visitors every year. If you’re hoping for a more relaxed experience that lets you visit the area on your own time, consider staying the night at Pony Express RV Resort & Campground. This resort comes with clean sites, a clubhouse and pool, bike rentals, recreational fields, and even more great amenities to give you everything you could want to relax and appreciate your trip. You’ll also be a short drive from Salt Lake City (where you can visit us!) to help you unwind with some local nightlife and fun family attractions.

We’re sure that visiting one of these campgrounds will give you the kind of camping experience that you’ll really love, but they’re certainly not the only options out there. Maybe you have some favorite campgrounds of your own and we’d love to hear about them. Stop by Airstream of Utah and chat with one of our staff members or ask them to show you around some of the trailers we have available right now. We proudly serve all of Utah, including Salt Lake City and Park City, as well as Jackson, WY.
